Dear friends in Christ,
Everyone knows it’s been a hard year for many. You can’t help but feel down when you read the unemployment figures, see your retirement account value cut in half, or read about banks taking bail out money and still holding lavish parties for executives. In the midst of this we enter the season of Lent, traditionally a time for fasting and abstinence, reflecting on Christ’s suffering for us. That’s not something that really lifts our spirit’s either.
