Lent 2026 Theme: “Sabbath Is …”
This Lent, we invite you into a journey of rest, reflection, and renewal with our theme “Sabbath Is …”. In a world shaped by hurry, noise, and endless demands, Sabbath calls us to stop, to make space for God, for one another, and for the deep rhythms of creation and grace. Drawing on Scripture and the poetry of Wendell Berry, we will explore Sabbath as Prayer, Quiet, Questions, Living Water, Healing, Lament, Praise, Service, and Joy. Each week, we will reflect on how Sabbath is not only a day, but a way of life, a rhythm that restores our relationships, our communities, and the earth itself. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18, and we will gather each week for midweek soup suppers and Holden Evening Prayer. You are also invited to contribute a creative devotion, through writing, poetry, artwork, or another form of reflection, for our Lenten Devotional Booklet. As the days lengthen and Easter approaches, may this season be a time to slow down, to listen deeply, and to rediscover the gift of Sabbath in our lives. |
