Dear Confirmands and Families,

The Rite of Confirmation celebration is quickly approaching. The date for this special celebration is Sunday, May 2. This is such an important step for our students as they claim their faith as their own. We will do all we can to celebrate it and make it special, memorable, and meaningful for you all.

Here are a few items and dates for you to be aware of as we approach the day.

• Here is a link to the Personal Statement of Faith form that the confirmands will need to spend time thinking about and completing. It is due to be completed by Wednesday, April 21. Part of completing this is choosing a significant Bible verse and reflecting on why it was chosen. That verse will be shared with the congregation the day they get confirmed. Confirmands can choose to memorize their verse and share it, read it, or have me read it. Each student, upon completing their Statement of Faith, will schedule a time to discuss it with me one on one.
• A Night of Preparation will be provided on Wednesday, April 14. This will be a night primarily for the students to decorate their red stoles that are worn on their Confirmation Day, but also time will be available, if needed, to work on their Personal Faith Statements and ask questions of me or the other adult leaders. In addition, we will be reflecting on their Statements of Faith, their overall confirmation experience, and will end with a time of prayer and blessing. 
• Rehearsal and Pictures will be on Wednesday, April 28, at 6:00 p.m. Students should dress nicely. They will be wearing their white robe and stoles. Both a group photo and individual photos will be taken and will be available for purchase. Here is a link to the photo order form.
• We are planning on the service being held outdoors, during our morning service at our amphitheatre. In the case of inclement weather we will be prepared to hold the service indoors for confirmands, their families, and other loved ones only, while streaming the service online for the rest of the congregation. In this case, all the necessary COVID-19 precautions and expectations will be in place. We will publicize our plan prior to that Sunday morning based on projected weather forecasts.
