The theme, “What’s Your Story?” is an invitation to open our hearts to one another and to deepen the bonds of friendship among us. It will be a reminder that faithful stewards share not only their time, talent and treasure, but that they also share their stories, by way of sharing themselves. Jesus knew that sharing a simple story had the power to draw people in, to engage their imaginations, and eventually to transform them. As followers of Jesus, we are also called to share our stories. Over and over again, we hear Jesus say, “Go and tell…” Sharing our stories can help others catch a glimpse of God at work in the midst of our ordinary, everyday lives, and that glimpse might be all that is needed to ignite or fan the flame of faith in the heart of another. We are so thankful for the gift of each other, and the many ways this community of faith helps us grow in grace and live out our faith in a world that really needs to hear the story that we love to tell—the story of God’s love, compassion and justice. We look forward to hearing your story. The series will include both Sunday and Wednesday learning opportunities. The theme is based on the book, “Everyday Spirituality: Discover a Life of Hope, Peace, and Meaning” by James Hazelwood. All members are encouraged to purchase the book and read it. |
